“A match by chance”

Alex was one of those people who never really believed in online dating. “Real relationships start in the real world,” he told himself, as he reluctantly created a profile on a popular dating site—at the urging of his best friend.

After a week of uploading photos and banal biographies, Alex was about to delete the app. But then she appeared—Laura. There were no fake selfies, but a photo of her with a book in her hand, on a park bench. Under it: “I’m looking for someone to be comfortable with.”

They texted each other. At first cautiously, then for hours. Changing music, book recommendations, jokes, childhood stories… Two weeks later, they met in a small cafe. She was carrying the same book in the photo. He handed her his favorite, old and worn.

The first meeting wasn’t fireworks—it was quiet, calm, and… natural. Just like the silence she’d dreamed of.
